Day 4

Today is day 4 of the family having no sugar. Things are going pretty good. The kids are doing way better than I thought. I was pretty happy when the other day my son was looking at the ingredient on something the other day and said "mom look the 2nd thing in this it is sugar." So what did he do, he threw it a way. I was pretty happy that he was learning what I was trying to teach him. Today I feel way better than yesterday. The first 2 days I would get really bad headaches come on around 6 pm. Yesterday the headaches we gone, but my insides were killing me. Everything I ate just went right through me. Which is good my body was detoxifying everything, but man I didn't feel so great. Woke up today and I feel great. I usually get tired about 2:00 and so far I'm feeling pretty good.
Sunday and Monday for breakfast we had 100% whole wheat buttermilk pancakes and waffle with almond butter and 100% pure maple syrup grade B and the kids loved it. My girls are just loving the green smoothies and my son well it is a work in progress, but at least he is trying and not throwing a fit! My son is also taking a new lunch every day to school and he likes it. So I'm pretty pleased today.
For breakfast this morning I made oatmeal with Roll Oats. My son loved them and my youngest daughter downed hers. My middle child not so much but she drank her smoothie. Hopefully more good will come along. So far we are doing good and learning a lot!!

Time for a HEALTHY Change

So a couple of weeks ago I went and saw the Green Smoothie Girl. Didn't know much about her. In the short hour and a half I learned a lot from her. I decided that I should look into getting some of her books and educate my self and family. I've always wanted my kids to be good eats and I have always wanted to eat healthy. My son is a very picky eater and I have always battled with him. My girls are pretty good. But I will be honest my kids also eat a lot of sugar and processed foods. My son could lives off of carbs he loves, white bread, pancakes, pizza, muffins, chicken nuggets, grill cheese and a banana. It just kills me and he wont try anything new.
So after talking with my husband I told him things need to change. So we got the 12 steps to whole foods from Green Smoothie Girl. My husband and I have been reading it together ever night. It has really opened our eyes. So starting yesterday we said good bye to junk food and got rid of a bunch of food. No sugar in this house. It will be very hard for the first 4 days.
This morning for breakfast we had a couple of melt downs and a couple of more. Am I crazy? Is it going to be hard? Do I really want to do this?  Yes, Yes and Yes. My kids health is the most important thing to me. I need to be a better example and teach my kids the important's about eating healthy.
So I have decided to blog about my process and how things are going. That way I can look back and see our progress.

Breakfast today: I made every one green smoothies with whole wheat bread with almond butter on it. (big change from buttermilk pancakes, with syrup or cold cereal)
Daddy: Like it
Son: not a fan at all drank one sip and wouldn't eat the rest. So I put it in the fridge for later.
Daughter: Love it
Daughter 2: Just like her brother.
Then we went to an Easter Egg hunt, they had cookies and off course eggs full of candy. What did my son and daughter 2 want? COOKIES and what did they both do when I told them no because they didn't eat their breakfast and no because remember we are trying to not eat sugar foods. MELT DOWN city. Of course I new that would happy. Some may think that I'm such a mean mom. No I'm just trying to teach my kids to make good choices. Liked I said the first four days will be HARD, but with the support of my hubby we can get through this. So here is to the next 12 months of a HEALTHY change for us!

Somebody turned 6

So I'm a little slow at posting, but I'm trying to keep up. On March 30th my handsome boy turned 6 and I cant even believe it. Where did the last 6 years go. He wanted a birthday party really bad and with me just having a baby I knew it would be a little crazy, but we had a birthday party at the house and we rented a bounce house. I was really hoping the weather would be nice, but with our luck it wasn't. It rained that day, but the kids still had fun in the bounce house and we play some games in the garage. CJ had a ball and that is all the mattered. He is my bigger helper and he loves his sisters so much. We love having him in our family he cracks us up and can make us very angry at time too. :) He is so stubborn! He must get that from his dad. :) We feel so blessed to have 3 healthy cute kids.

Aspen Kyndel Coltrin

We are happy to have our little bundle of joy here with us. Aspen was born March 13, 2012 at 11:12 am weighing in at 9 pounds and 20 3/4 inches long. The deliver was probably my easiest one which is crazy since she is my biggest baby, but after I saw her and saw that she had a little head compared to her siblings that would be why. The doctor came in at 11 and I pushed maybe 3 or 4 time and then she came out. It was just Cade and I in the room this time and it was really nice just the 2 of us. I was induced due to the fact that my blood pressure was high and was not going down after being on bedrest for 2 weeks. So I was induced at 38 weeks. So she came 2 week early and weighting 9 pounds. Can you image if I went any longer. HOLY COW!!
Her brother and her sister love her so much and always want to be in her face or hold her. I love it. She is a pretty calm baby for the most part. We do have a fussy time and that would be from about 8:30pm-1:30 am which daddy takes over which is really nice and helps me out. Then from 1:30 on it is me. Hopefully this will pass sooner than later. She does not like her diaper being changed. She always cries. I'm just trying to adjust of being a mommy of 3. It is crazy to think that we have 3 kids now. I love it though. I just love watching Cade with his kids and how he is so good with them. What really melts my heart is when he holds our newborns and you can just see the love he has for them.
We feel very blessed to have 3 health kids.

Things

Well, I have set a goal for this next year to at least update this once of month. If I have time I will try to do more, but my goal is to at least do once a month. Things are going well for us. Cade is staying busy with Coltrin Central Vacuum and both Gyms. They are both doing really well the last 2 months which is awesome! I'm so proud of my hubby he does so much for are family. It is crazy to think that next month we will be married for 8 years. Oh I love that man.
CJ is still loving kindergarten and is doing well and loves his teacher. I think he is getting a little more excited about having a baby sister. All though he would rather be having a brother. He likes to feel her move and talk to her. He wants to name her Teddy from Good Luck Charlie. :) Oh I love that kid.
Payten well, she is such a drama queen. She is now 3 and really wants to go to pre-school. I have to keep telling her next year. She loves to draw and color. She is such a girl. She thinks she is so funny too. Oh how she make me laugh and smile. I love her.
As for baby #3 she is such an active baby. She is always moving. I'm almost 31 weeks and we can't wait to meet this little baby.
We had a really good Christmas this last year and then Cade turned 30 this year. He is so old!! :)
As for me I'm staying busy taking care of the house, the kiddos and working from home and my church calling in the Young Womens. Cade and I feel very blessed with all that we have and are very thankful. Here are some pictures to enjoy.

3 Years old and I'm a slacker

So I have been slacking really bad on my blog or should I say I have had no time. I'm really busy trying to be a stay at home mom and a working mom from home and something just don't get done and that is ok as long as my kids feel loved and have my attention i'm good. We are excited to say that we are expecting baby #3 and it is another GIRL. oh help me. Girl drama kills me. Special when they are only 3 years old. No we are excited and can't wait to see her. I'm due march 26th 4 days before CJ birthday. It will be crazy to think I will be a mother of 3. Wish me luck. We found out on Friday 11th and lets just says that CJ is so not excited to have another sister. He told me he already has one and that he wanted a brother so I can try again in a year for that brother of his. YA RIGHT!! :) Hopefully he warms up to the idea that he is having another sister. We will see. It is crazy to think that he is in Kindergarten this year. When did my little boy grow up so fast. Oh how I love that kid. He is my bigger helper and I love it. He sure does know how to push my buttons though.
As for our little sassy drama queen she is turning 3 today. Where did that last 3 years go. They says it is the trouble 2, but not in this house. It is the trouble 3. But having a girl is so fun she just loves to test my patience and she know she is so darn cute. So glad this sweet thing is in out family. Love you pitterpatter.
As the for the Coltrin's we are doing good and staying busy. Cade and his brothers are opening another gym and this one will be in Meridian. So between the 2 gyms and the vacuum system and being a husband and dad he is really busy, but does a good job at it all. I love that man. I think I'm pretty lucky to be married to such a great man. Well, this is all the time I have for now until who knows when!!

5 Years Old

So I know I'm behind and that CJ birthday was last week, but I wanted to get it on my blog. So on the 30th of March my little man turned 5. I know you heard me right 5. I can't even believe it myself. Sometimes it seems like yesterday he was born. So for his birthday this year Cade and I decided he could have a friend birthday party. We had it at Monkey Bizness because that is where he wanted it. He had so much fun. He had a lot of friend who were able to come. It was great. Then after his party we took him to go and get his first bike. We have been trying for the last couple of years to get him a bike and he hasn't wanted one, but this year he did. So we went and got him one and now he is learning how to ride it. :)
The week before his party we took him to his kindergarten physical. He do so well. I was so proud of him. Doctor appointment have never been good with him since he was a baby. He usually freaks, but not this time and he even had to get shots. Cade and I laughed when the nurse brought back his status and guess what his percentile was for height. 3%. Yep you read that right 3%. He is a little short, but I love it. It fits him well.
CJ you have been a joy in our lives. We love you more than you will ever know. He is my love bug and very smart for his age. I'm thank my heaven father for bring you to this family. Happy Birthday buddy!!
